Prime Upstate Rentals was founded in 2022. The company started when the owners noticed a lack of affordable items when it came to wedding decorations. The couple was planning their own wedding and decided to DIY it due to the high costs of hiring a wedding planner and decorator. Along the way, the couple noticed how expensive it was to buy the items needed for a dream wedding. They even looked at different wedding resale groups and realised the price to purchase resale items was almost the same to buy brand new. Considering 99% of wedding items are only needed for one day, it became evident that there had to be a better way. Both Quincy and Tanisha were already entrepreneurs at the time. Quincy is a licensed home inspector and Tanisha is a licensed real estate agent. Together, and with the help of family members, they decided that they needed to help make others' dream weddings more affordable.
